Business Insights Analyst


The Business Analyst of International Digital Distribution is responsible for commercial financial analysis of the clients filmed entertainment and television product for International Digital Distribution (including VOD, Electronic Sell-Through and AVOD). Data manipulation and management is also a key part to the assignment - working towards improving existing processes and systems as well as forward looking to implement new strategies to drive efficiency in this area. A primary function of the assignment is to provide important tactical and strategic analysis to support the growth of the international digital distribution content licensing business, part of the TVD division. The assignment will help develop and maintain an automated financial workflow for the AVOD business - enabling effective reporting and analysis of ad-revenues to and from stakeholders. As well as tracking engagement of content across various channels, the assignment will entail forward looking insight and recommendations to identify revenue generating opportunities. The Analyst will also be the key person to provide Business Analytics support for all projects and initiatives being conducted by Business Insights team as well as the wider Digital Distribution team - providing expertise and technical skills to ensure they receive the information and details they require.


  • Work on the integration of the TVD Data Warehouse into Business Insights operations and help manage the relationship with that team.
  • Manage collation of multiple data sets in internal systems and maintain reporting tools, working with external agencies where appropriate.
  • Produce regular performance reporting & dashboards for the international transactional new media business, covering all types of content and including broad international reports and territory focuses.
  • Conduct performance analysis, to support both tactical and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and communicate market trends, competitive landscape and communicate insights to the business.
  • Drive revenue growth through the development of meaningful and actionable metrics
  • Work in conjunction with Finance and Sales to provide detailed analysis for all budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Communicate business line performance metrics to stakeholders internally and across the board
  • Review competitor data including pricing, release windows and promotional activity to influence initiatives
  • Lead ad hoc growth analyses to cultivate understanding of product consumption and consumer trends in various regions to drive more informed distribution decisions
  • Work closely with internal Research team and customers to distil market research, industry forecasts and competitive landscape information into meaningful analysis to support evolving deal constructs
  • Collaborate with the business units to understand and determine data requirements to develop dashboards
  • Develop and implement automated processes for dashboards and improve reporting processes
  • Help identify opportunities for improvement and communicate recommendations


  • Advanced computer & data skills including SQL and Excel. Power BI and Python are a plus
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills and experience working with complex data
  • Comfortable working with, and ability to summarise key findings from, large data sets.
  • Experience in aggregating, manipulating and visualizing data into actionable insights
  • An ability to design atheistically pleasing deliverables (dashboards, reports etc.)
  • Methodical, accurate and organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with ability to take initiative and prioritise workloads
  • Ability to cope in a dynamic & changeable environment in a calm and professional manner
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills
  • Previous experience in Media preferable but more important is a can do mentality
  • An active interest in the international media business and understanding of Digital Media
  • Passion for TV and film content
