Event Manager - Music & Arts Venue

Handle Recruitment are seeking an experienced Event Manager who is able to bring a great network of agents and artists from the electronic dance music scene, to work for one of Bristol's leading music and arts venues.

You will be responsible for leading the events and marketing team, running their portfolio, from planning and delivering a diverse range of events at the venue and off-site.

Salary - £30,000-35,000 DOE
Location - Bristol - offering the hybrid working model

As the Events manager your responsibilities will include:

Leadership

  • Provide leadership for venue teams to ensure a leading customer experience and efficient safe venue operations
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop ideas for events and artist bookings as well as ensure relevant creative marketing campaigns
  • Represent the business in appropriate media opportunities
  • Oversee all phases of events, including but not limited to sales, planning, marketing, servicing, and administrative procedures
  • Opportunity to input into the structure and roles of venue staff to deliver the company's ambition


Diary management

  • Oversee the delivery of a diverse entertainment programme
  • Manage relationships and the booking of artists
  • Supervise the logistics for travel and accommodation for the talent
  • Lead the business development to hire the venue space for alternative uses
  • Develop strategic partnerships with external promoters and venues (local and national)


Production and Technical teams

  • Manage event production
  • Liaise with the operations team to ensure production requirements can be met and delivered
  • Be the main point of contact for all event staff, freelancers, promoters and third party suppliers


Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with brands, organisations and promoters
  • Conducts short- and long-term planning and management for events and sales
  • Recommends, develops, and implements effective plans for generating event revenues, innovation and venue improvements
  • Build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable the achievement of sales objectives



Financial planning and budget management

  • Accountability for the financial management for all functional areas this role is responsible for
  • Reporting on the performance of previous events


Health & Safety and Licensing

  • Accountability for compliance with all statutory and other legislation regarding Health & Safety
  • Ensure all Health and safety procedures and licensing objectives are adhered to at events
  • Ensure the business is run in accordance with its licence


General

  • Actively engage with the company's vision and policies regarding equal opportunities and diversity, artistic ambition, participation and engagement, health and safety, evaluation and monitoring
  • Maintain positive and trust based relations with all stakeholders (authorities, customers, shareholders, employees, local community, partners and suppliers)


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Must have planned and hosted successful events
  • Must have had experience in dealing with booking agents and artist's managers
  • Project management experience including working with budgets, will be essential
  • Understanding and knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management
  • Understanding of, and passion for, the spirit and potential of a truly great music and arts venue from venue management, to staff ethos, to visitor experience and the ability to make this happen
  • Passion for what can be achieved through arts and cultural activity
  • Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent
  • Experience in hospitality management, public relations, marketing or relevant field is preferred although a portfolio of successful music events will also be considered
