Financial Controller - Music

Growing music company are looking for a qualified Financial Controller who will be responsible for general accounting and finance operations for the UK office and working on financial and tax reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with third-party administrators to prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting and statements, including review of account balances including cash, accruals, fund and deal expenses
  • Ensure asset purchases and expenses are correctly recorded and classified
  • Properly account for and allocate fund expenses, deal expenses, and fees
  • Assist on coordination of year-end audit
  • Involvement in tax accounting alongside external tax preparers
  • Identify and implement process and control improvements
  • Help with Management Company accounting and reporting, including A/P process, tax returns and payments, and quarterly internal reporting to CEO
  • Help with quarterly Board package and other internal reporting
  • Ad hoc projects

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting
  • 4-8 years of accounting experience, public experience a plus
  • IFRS experience required, US GAAP experience a plus
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel as well as other Microsoft Office applications
  • Willingness to help on both accounting and finance assignments
  • Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy
  • Hardworking, enthusiastic and results oriented
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and procedures
