Handle are currently working with a rapidly growing Entertainment/Fintech SME, who are looking for a Group Financial Controller, on a temp to perm basis. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this is a very broad role which oversees 3 direct reports and a further 8 in-direct reports. This role will be critical in coordinating business planning and development, accounting and budgeting.

Key responsibilities -

  • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the board on a monthly basis
  • Manage and mentor the financial reporting/control team
  • Oversee all accounting and reporting procedures, financial transactions and systems used by the group
  • Monitor the group's finance policies and procedures, and improve/implement where possible
  • Prepare annual financial statements, tax reports and oversee the external audit process
  • Ensure all tax accounting is in compliance with current regulations
  • Manage all month-end close procedures, ensuring the integrity of financial data on the chosen IT platforms

Candidate requirements

  • Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA or international equivalent
  • Have worked in a similar Financial Controller role for a minimum of 3 years
  • Proven team management experience
  • Start-up/SME experience from another technology or fintech business
  • Proven ability to drive efficiency and process reviews across an international organisation
  • Commercially astute individual, capable of strategic thinking and with sound judgement
