Handle Recruitment are supporting a large, global organisation with operations across multiple regions and business lines, looking to add an experienced Interim Cyber Security Risk Specialist to its international security team.
This role partners closely with technology and business stakeholders to ensure security risks are identified, assessed, and managed effectively across international projects, infrastructure, and third-party environments.
Key requirements -
- Act as the security lead for international technology and business projects
- Identify, assess, document, and report security risks across systems and environments
- Independently prioritise high-risk issues and ensure appropriate risk assessments are completed
- Conduct security reviews for high-impact or sensitive systems
- Support onboarding of international infrastructure, ensuring appropriate security controls and visibility
- Review security findings and vulnerabilities, clearly communicate risk, and drive remediation with delivery teams
- Work closely with domestic and international security teams to define mitigating controls
- Ensure security practices align with privacy and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR)
- Assist with security incident coordination and reporting
- Contribute to the development and documentation of regional risk management processes
Candidate requirements
- Background in information security, cyber risk, or security assurance
- Strong understanding of enterprise security risk management
- Comfortable balancing risk, business priorities, and delivery timelines
- Confident engaging with non-technical stakeholders and influencing outcomes
- Experience working across international teams and complex environments
- Familiarity with security standards, policies, and compliance frameworks
- Global or multinational organisational experience
- Exposure to cloud platforms and modern infrastructure
