A fast-growing FMCG group is seeking a Finance Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a hands-on role supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function while partnering closely with operations and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee revenue recognition and ensure alignment between inventory and accounting systems
Manage month-end close including sales reporting, COGS journals, accruals and prepayments
Reconcile bank accounts and oversee AR, AP and credit control activities
Review and submit VAT returns and ensure HMRC deadlines are met
Run weekly payment cycles and review employee expenses
Drive continuous improvements to financial processes, controls and reporting
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar hands-on finance role, ideally within FMCG, retail or a product-led business
Strong understanding of revenue, inventory and month-end processes
Confident managing VAT, reconciliations and core transactional finance
Systems-savvy, detail-oriented and comfortable working cross-functionally
Proactive, organised and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
