Investment Manager - Film/TV

Supporting the commercial Film/TV team in developing alternative investment products, the deployment of existing funds, performance monitoring and investor reporting in the media and related sectors. This is a manager grade role in an industry-leading commercial team, offering the opportunity for a committed candidate to develop a long-term career within a unique organisation. The role will also focus on assisting the Fund Heads in closing film and TV deals across the various funds and all post-closing work related to those deals, including assisting with collections and reporting in respect of the investor-facing aspects of the relevant funds.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting the commercial Film/TV team in all areas of fund management, from assisting on deal closing (both film and TV production, and lending deals), to tracking the performance of projects undertaken to management and resolution of investor queries
  • Transactional modelling to support the commercial team in assessing and closing deals across various funds
  • Maintaining and updating performance analysis tools to assist in the production of returns forecasting and cash flow projections
  • Fund administration and reporting up to Fund Head on returns and deployment, and assistance with the management of investor interaction from subscription to exit
  • Managing the portfolio of closed deals, including monitoring costs and revenues, managing foreign currency deals, maintaining relationships with deal partners and reporting to investors
  • Assisting the Finance Team to produce valuations of individual investments based on market analysis and performance forecasting
  • Taking ownership of key tracking tools which enable the commercial team to manage investments
  • In time, taking ownership of potential deals, pitching Ingenious as a partner, quoting and steering successful pitches through to closing, including any financial analysis required
  • Analyse and evaluate business plans and financials from potential new investee companies' opportunities to determine whether they are an appropriate investment
  • General business (with a focus on analytical) support of the division and its products

Requirements

  • Degree Qualified
  • Financial/Accounting qualification beneficial
  • Extensive experience in Film or TV finance gained either at a production company or film distribution company, or;
  • 2+ years preferred within an investment firm as an analyst or associate, but looking to move into Film/TV finance
  • Highly numerate and able to work extensively with Excel at an advanced level
  • Highly interested in and able to stay up to date with film distribution models and ultimate income
  • Ability to work with a strong degree of independence, show initiative and prioritise and balance work streams to meet deadlines depending on business needs
  • Ability to manipulate and analyse financial models
  • Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders
