We're working with a leading name in the film industry who are looking to hire a Merchandise, Brand & Publishing Assistant to support their growing brand and licensing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong eye for detail, an interest in film and design, and experience in merchandising, publishing, or licensing. The role sits at the centre of approvals for film-related product, from toys and collectibles to book series, working closely with major studios and creative partners.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a high volume of merchandise and publishing submissions, ensuring everything aligns with brand, quality, and licensing standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Reviewing and managing up to hundreds of merchandise submissions per week via studio portals
Ensuring submissions meet brand, style, and quality guidelines
Reviewing and approving merchandise and publishing items, including toys, collectibles, and book series
Providing clear, constructive feedback on designs, prototypes, and product concepts
Liaising with major studios and external partners to approve submissions or request revisions
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with studio and partner teams
Monitoring, tracking, and reporting on submission volumes and approval statuses
Ensuring compliance with contractual and licensing obligations
Reviewing artwork and mock-ups using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Checking consistency with Pantone colour systems and approved archival assets
Working with the archive team to source relevant artwork and materials
The Ideal Candidate
Excellent attention to detail
Background in licensing, merchandising, design, or publishing
Basic editorial and proofreading skills
Familiarity with brand and style guidelines
Highly organised and comfortable managing high volumes of work
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to manage deadlines while maintaining accuracy
Basic understanding of licensing or publishing workflows
Confident using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign
Able to assess designs and suggest improvements
