Release Management Director

We're seeking an experienced and strategic Release Management Director to lead across the release and production function. Managing a small team, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of global physical and digital releases across audio, video, and merchandise, from product conception through manufacturing and digital distribution.

This is a team lead role focused on operational excellence, workflow optimisation, sustainability, cost management, and supporting artists through outstanding release execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Release Management team, driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement

  • Oversee end-to-end production of physical, digital, and merchandise releases

  • Manage timelines, capacity planning, approvals, and global release schedules

  • Oversee metadata standards, label copy, asset management, and archival processes

  • Manage manufacturing and supplier relationships, negotiating costs and ensuring high-quality delivery

  • Own production budgets, cost control, and profitability optimisation

  • Drive sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction in physical manufacturing

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, artists, and external partners

About You

  • Extensive experience in physical and digital release production within a record label

  • Strong knowledge of vinyl manufacturing, print production, metadata, and asset management

  • Proven team leadership and workflow design experience

  • Skilled in budgeting, cost control, and supplier negotiation

  • Highly organised, solutions-focused, and detail-oriented

  • Passionate about music, artist development, and operational excellence
