Handle are currently working with a well-known sports brand who are looking to bring on a Payroll Specialist for a 1-year FTC. Processing all the payroll for 500+ UK based staff, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroller to work at such a successful business!

Key responsibilities include -

  • Administer end-to-end payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full adherence to current employment and tax legislation

  • Address employee questions about pay, deductions, and benefits promptly and courteously, delivering excellent service

  • Prepare and submit statutory filings, including HMRC tax notifications, year-end returns, and other regulatory submissions

  • Manage and update payroll information in Sage Payroll, maintaining accurate employee profiles, salary revisions, deductions, benefits, and leave adjustments

  • Prepare and verify BACS payment files, perform reconciliations, and authorise payment transactions

Candidate requirements -

  • Strong user of Sage Payroll

  • Strong analytical and numerical aptitude, with a keen eye for identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies efficiently

  • Recognised as a subject matter expert in payroll operations, best practices, and employment legislation

  • Strong understanding of tax legislation and all related statutory reporting obligations

  • Knowledgeable in accounting principles and the financial implications of payroll transactions.

  • Well-versed in GDPR and data protection standards, with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data integrity in all payroll activities
