A leading media and publishing group is seeking a detail-oriented Royalties & Finance Assistant to support the management of licensing deals and royalty reporting. This role blends core financial accounting tasks with rights and contract administration, ensuring accurate, timely processing of all royalty-related activity.
Please note, this would be an initial 6-month contract, so would require an asap start.
Responsibilities:
Process royalty statements in the internal system, ensuring correct treatment of advances, recoupment and overages
Track submission of periodic royalty reports and follow up with external partners when required
Identify and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate data and contract compliance
Manage payments due to writers and third parties for agency clients, and raise related sales/purchase invoices
Maintain publisher and writer agreement details, including advances, royalty rates and key terms
Apply royalty principles effectively and collaborate with Finance on reconciliations and payment processes
Requirements:
3+ previous years experience working with royalties or rights-based financial processes
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables
Previous experience working with royalties or rights-based financial processes
Preferred system experience: Sage 200, That's Rights & AIQ
