Handle Recruitment are thrilled to be partnering with the leading with one of the world's leading illustrated non-fiction publishers to source a Senior Growth Manager.

The Senior Growth Manager is responsible for overall digital growth strategy and development of social channels. Working with the global social media teams and the wider brand teams the role is key in delivering a social brand strategy and identity, driving compelling content, supporting paid media and evaluating new and existing platforms.

Working with one direct report this role is responsible for the strategic planning of all social media content, working with the rest of the brand to create mixed media content and campaigns that align with the brand's communications and title campaigns. Analysing social media data, enhancing the brand's measurement and reporting campaign performance to the business is a vital part of the role.

Key responsibilities will include:

STRATEGY

  • Develop a social media channel strategy that aligns and scales with the brand, audience development and email strategies, to grow their communities and drive book sales.
  • Using insight and data based on audience and platform usage to carve out clear roles and content strategies for the brand's feeds
  • Refine the social media content and creative accordingly, using data to understand and constantly improve the brand's performance and growth
  • Incorporate audience growth insights into planning, and respond to data - realigning audience focus, paid media and creative output as a result
  • Keep an eye on industry trends, best practices, innovation and developments in social media, publishing and other industries, particularly regarding creative content, algorithm changes and audience targeting
  • Approaching new partners as agreed, to create business relationships that align with the audiences, increase engagement and help grow communities
  • Work with Directors to set targets to increase brand awareness and increase platform engagement

REPORTING

  • Develop a measurement and reporting framework with support from the Data and Insights team
  • Research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to find new and better ways of measuring social media activity and develop new modes of consumer feedback and reviews

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT & DELIVERY

  • Develop a detailed social media schedule and annual calendar that supports the brand's growth strategy, target audiences, community development and title campaigns
  • Oversee distinctive mixed media content across multiple platforms, working on a channel by channel strategy
  • Generate ideas through creative planning; approaching partners and influencers and planning activity for competition and campaigns that feature the brand's books, authors, brands and partners
  • Take responsibility for efficiency for assigned marketing projects, tasks, campaigns, events and promotions that relate to our social media marketing

BUDGETING

  • Oversee annual budget with Global Brand and Comms Director

The ideal candidate will have

  • Expert understanding of social media
  • Track record of social media growth and community strategies
  • Excellent communication skills - one to one and in front of a large audience
  • Expert understanding paid media and publicity
  • Good understanding of the publishing and/or media industries
  • Expert strategic thinking capability
  • Ability to work with figures and budgets
  • Leadership qualities; to lead meetings and people
  • Proven decision making abilities
  • Self-motivated and working to own agenda and time-frame
  • Experience working with authors, agents, brands, designers
  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish, within budget and on time
  • Customer focused and responsive, internally and externally
  • Ability to work flexibly, scheduling or covering evening and weekend social media where necessary
