Senior Project Manager - Event Agency

Our client, a leading global events agency delivering award winning live, virtual and hybrid events is looking for a Senior Project Manager to successfully deliver complex and large-scale events and managing a medium to large project team. Reporting into the Director of Operations, this role requires excellent client and supplier management skills, a commercial mindset and creativity, working collaboratively to ensure high quality outcomes and future business growth.

As a priority you will:

  • Take responsibility for event enquiries - from proposal and planning stage through to delivery of events and projects within agreed deadlines

  • Prepare presentations and pitch effectively on behalf of the company

  • Manage one to two junior team members, including identifying development needs and supporting their growth.

  • Manage and lead medium to large-scale events, including site visits and onsite management.

  • Work with the Director of Operations to resource the team required for each project

  • Have ownership of your own portfolio of client accounts, building strong relationships and partnerships while identifying and pursuing opportunities for business growth

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and key account managers, including negotiating, due diligence and contract sign off

  • Manage and monitor operational budgets for events and apply strong commercial awareness to ensure cost-effective delivery

  • Be responsible for financial control including client/ supplier invoicing and post-event reconciliation.

  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and areas for improvement.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field

  • Proven experience (typically 6+ years) in a fast-paced agency or similar environment

  • Proven experience of successfully delivering corporate events/ projects, such as conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners and incentive trips

  • Extensive product knowledge of overseas and UK based hotel and venues

  • Knowledge of building and managing delegate registration sites via Cvent or similar platforms

  • Experience in the preparation of Health & Safety checks and post-event reports

  • Excellent relationship, interpersonal skills plus strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Good Production, AV and branding knowledge

  • Experience of managing a medium to large project team

  • Right to work in the UK
