Handle Recruitment are proud to be working with the leading International Festival of Creativity to recruit a team of Assistant Awards Managers for the run up to the 2021 festival. The festival is widely regarded as the Oscars of the advertising, brand marketing and creative communications world and is a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking to gain invaluable experience within the creative, advertising and events industries.

Each year, the festival receives over 40,000 entries from 90 countries around the globe that are then passed over to juries for the judging process to begin. They have a dedicated Awards team to oversee this process but need interim candidates from April 6th - end of May/ June 2021 to support them in the London office as well as potentially the opportunity to work on site at the festival in Cannes, France should the event go ahead in person.

Successful candidates will build up exceptional knowledge and understanding of the advertising industry and will gain unmatched exposure to the top creative work currently being produced. In exchange, the role involves working in a high pressured environment. It is an exciting and challenging experience, which requires a greater level of commitment and dedication than most temporary roles therefore we can only consider candidates who can fully commit to the entirety of the assignment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Directly supporting the Judging Operations and Delivery Managers
  • Acting as a first point of contact for all related awards category issues
  • Liaising with clients to answer any queries around the award submission process
  • Team supervision - including monitoring team performance and productivity
  • Checking the work of Awards Processors and signing off complete submissions in preparation for judging
  • Awards processing when necessary
  • Ad-hoc duties as required on the run up to the festival

We are looking for candidates with initiative and self-motivation with excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to compose professional and articulate emails as well as speaking to clients over the phone. Successful candidates will have the ability to take direction working within a busy team and the confidence to take on a leadership role if required. Experience in managing/ running a team is not essential but will be preferable.

This is a temporary assignment starting April 6th- end of May/ start of June 2021 (end of June if selected to assist with the judging process). You must be available to attend Zoom interviews in March 2021 and have no prior commitments/ holiday for the entirety of the assignment.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, the role will be remote in the first instance however when it is safe to do so the client will require candidates to be able to travel to their central London based office atleast 1/2 times a week. With that in mind, only candidates who are able and willing to travel into central London and work in the office when it is safe to do so will be considered.

Please note: due to Covid-19 restrictions whether the event is going to go ahead in person in Cannes, France or virtually is still undecided, this will be confirmed in the coming weeks. If it is safe and in line with Covid-19 restrictions for the event to go ahead in person in Cannes, candidates will be required to be free during the event period to travel to Cannes to work onsite if selected to do so.
