Handle are working with a leading music brand who are seeking a Data Analyst to join their in-house creative agency as they embark on an exciting new chapter in data and technology. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to their ongoing work and help them expand and grow. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about music, data, and technology, with a thirst for acquiring, analysing, and communicating knowledge through data. As part of a creative organisation, the ability to simplify complex problems is crucial, and experience in managing clients would be a strength. In addition to proficiency in SQL, you should have a strong understanding of ETL processes, advanced troubleshooting skills, efficient query running abilities, and basic knowledge of statistical modelling. Strong communication and data visualisation skills are also essential, as data needs to be distilled into simple takeaways for clients. Knowledge of machine learning concepts would be a bonus.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Researching and developing data-driven solutions to address current and future business challenges.
  • Building, refining, and enhancing SQL pipelines that feed into data dashboards or tools.
  • Sourcing, cleaning, and preparing data for modeling, product creation, or visualisation.
  • Providing data research and audience insights to support the core strategic unit in optimising our artists' connections with global audiences.
  • Developing new data sets or features that become integral to our business operations.
  • Cultivating a competitive edge in connecting our artists with audiences worldwide.
  • Utilising partner data to extract key metrics and providing feedback to the labels.
  • Providing data-related advice to guide and inform business decisions.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proficient in SQL, with the ability to accurately and efficiently query databases.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes.
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts, techniques, and their applications.
  • Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving, avoiding reliance on old habits.
  • Knowledge of music repertoire is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in an SQL developer or related role.
  • Background in engaging clients in a consultative or analytical capacity.
  • Experience working with development teams to implement and deploy work.
  • Basic programming knowledge, preferably in Python.
  • Ability to lead data projects from ideation to realisation.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform products (or equivalent AWS), such as Big Query.
  • Familiarity with software development tools such as Git.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similarly quantitative field.
