Handle are delighted to be working with an established Music company on south coast in their search for a financial controller, this is a unique and rare opportunity to work for an amazing company.
you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and the ability to work collaboratively with the different departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company.
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Prepare monthly and quarterly budgets and forecasts.
Generate custom financial reports for management to support decision-making processes.
Track budget variances, investigate discrepancies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements for clients. (700 + statements per month)
Oversee quarterly MCPS reporting and half yearly royalty accounting for in house labels.
Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations.
Prepare year-end accounts to final draft (excluding tax calculations and companies house submissions)
Liaise with external accountant to finalise end of year accounts.
Manage cash flow.
Supervise and mentor the accounts team .
Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is desirable.
Rounded knowledge and experience with Sage accountancy software.
A minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Financial Controller in the music industry.
Complete understanding of how MCPS royalties function and associated reporting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
