Management Accountant
Handle Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading creative agency in their search for a Management Accountant.
This opportunity is ideal for a part-qualified or newly qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) finance professional who is looking to play a key, forward-thinking role within a dynamic finance function. Working closely with the CFO and senior stakeholders, you will provide meaningful commercial insight and support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple entities, including:
- Profit & loss analysis
- Balance sheet reviews and reconciliations
- Key metric reporting and supporting schedules
- Analysis of financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing clear commercial insights and actionable recommendations
- Monitoring and controlling costs, identifying efficiency improvements and cost-saving opportunities
- Reviewing client profitability, highlighting margin performance and supporting commercial reporting
- Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads
- Conducting regular financial review meetings with department managers to ensure alignment with budget and strategic objectives
- Weekly review of creditors and WIP, escalating issues to the CFO or partners as required
- Supporting external audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Preparing monthly/quarterly VAT returns and assisting with corporate tax processes
- Supporting the implementation of intercompany invoicing processes
- Managing cash flow, including preparation of a 13-week cash flow forecast
- Developing expertise in the Paprika system and driving continuous financial process improvements
- Providing holiday cover within the finance team
- Delivering ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA part-qualified (or finalist/qualified)
- Proven experience in a Management Accountant role, ideally within the communications or creative sector
- Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting standards
- Experience with intercompany invoicing
- Paprika accounting system experience is essential
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Lookups, IF statements, etc.)
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience of streamlining or implementing improved financial processes
- Collaborative team player
