Venue Director - Live Entertainment Venue

Are you an enterprising, innovative operator ready to elevate the venue's profile and shape its next chapter of growth? My client, a global leader in live entertainment is seeking an inspiring Venue Director to lead one of its flagship venues - a cornerstone of the local community. You will have the strategic acumen, commercial mindset, and passion to elevate the venue's reputation and shape its next phase of growth.

As a priority you will:

  • Own the venue's overall performance, balancing priorities across customers, team, shareholders, reputation, and growth

  • Make smart, strategic use of resources to hit short-, mid-, and long-term goals

  • Drive new revenue streams - from sponsorship to local programming - that align with business goals

  • Be a people first leader

  • Grow venue EBITDA by setting and tracking clear team goals

  • Collaborate with the Programming Director on an exciting, commercially strong events calendar, with a focus on music programming - and take charge of local bookings and relationships

To be successful you will need:

  • Strong management experience - ideally as a Head of Department or similar senior role

  • Proven ability to inspire, organise, and motivate large, diverse teams

  • Creative, goal-orientated, and customer-focused, delivering top-quality service in busy settings

  • Confident leading change, engaging teams, and driving key priorities forward

  • Skilled at building and maintaining great relationships across all levels, inside and outside the business

  • Practical problem-solver with a smart, ideas-led approach and solid budget management skills

  • Tech-savvy with the confidence to learn new systems quickly

  • A genuine interest in the live entertainment industry is required!

Please note, this role is based in the North East of England area.
